About the Forum
The ESG Forum is Ethiopia’s first creative-led platform dedicated to promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) leadership among businesses, development partners, and government institutions. Convened by Resolution Studio, the Forum connects decision-makers, innovators, and sustainability champions to share insights, stories, and solutions shaping Ethiopia’s responsible business landscape.
At its core, the Forum carries a simple truth: ESG is not new to us ; it’s rooted in us.
Our history, culture, and values have long embodied the principles of environmental care, social responsibility, and collective governance. From community tree planting to “edir” and “ekub” systems of mutual support, our traditions have always celebrated sustainability and shared growth. The ESG Forum seeks to translate these timeless values into modern frameworks that speak to today’s challenges and opportunities.
Why ESG, why now?
Across the globe, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles have become essential to achieving sustainable and inclusive development. In Ethiopia, this shift is gaining momentum as the country deepens its private-sector reforms, expands public–private partnerships, and aligns national development priorities with global sustainability standards. Yet in truth, ESG is not a new conversation for Ethiopia; it is a new language for an old wisdom. Our culture has always been built on respect for nature, communal wellbeing, and ethical stewardship. The ESG Forum bridges these worlds, connecting Ethiopia’s cultural foundations of sustainability with emerging international frameworks.
Through dialogue, creativity, and storytelling, the Forum will make ESG tangible and actionable; reminding us that the path to a sustainable future builds on the wisdom and practices our communities have upheld for generations.

To create a high-level, action-oriented dialogue that explores how Ethiopian businesses and institutions can adopt and communicate ESG practices - rooted in local values - that contribute to sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth.
